and general consumer protection issues. The site provides a comprehensive
guide and is a reliable and up-to-date reference source explaining your
rights with regard to such things as the purchase of faulty goods and
services etc.
Adviceguide provides basic information on your rights and gives you 'a
broad outline of where you stand and what you can do'. Subjects are neatly
arranged and the site is very user-friendly. A good starting point for
general advice on civil rights, consumer affairs, employment, family
matters, tax and many more areas.
A registered charity offering 'free, independent and confidential' advice
on virtually everything. The CAB dealt with 6.2 million problems over the
last twelve months and operate a network of 770 centers in Britain. A
well-organized site.
The Samaritans provide 'confidential emotional support to any person who
is suicidal or despairing'.
A site about 'race, racism and growing up in Britain' for young people.
Visitors to the site are able to meet nine young British boys and girls
from very different backgrounds. There are quizzes, lyrics, quotes and
contributions from celebrities from the worlds of sport and music. There
is a 'serious issues' feature with information about using Britkid as an
educational resource.

for children, parents and teachers.
An organization offering support, advice and guidance to young men and
women. Advice covers relationships, sex, money, health, drugs, careers….
The EIN connects major information providers with advice workers
specializing in immigration, refugee and nationality law in the UK.
Advising the advisers. RIS collects, analyses and produces publications to
support voluntary and statutory agencies in order that these organizations
may 'deliver better services to people in need'.
The advice centers operated by DIAL are local services that provide
information on all aspects of disability. For those who have problems
getting around, a home visit can be arranged. Many of the advisers are
themselves disabled and therefore have a real understanding of the
problems encountered.
